NB: Please check for an update in the a.m. Will post by 6:45 am, if there’s any deterioration in the weather.

Hello again. Another weekend is upon us. And, we continue to ride rain or shine, mostly. Fortunately, of late, it has been shine. Tomorrow, however, may be different. That’s the bad news. The good news is that the temperature and humidity will compensate for the effects of the rain. We may be wet but we’ll be warm. And, the route will undoubtedly provide sufficient variety and interest to hold your attention. By that I mean, a short jaunt down a road we rarely ride. Mind you, there will be an out and back aspect to it. That’s never great but it does afford a change in perspective. Have I caught your attention yet? You know, you’ll just want to be there.

As for to-day’s commentary, I could state that tomorrow’s ride will be fantastic, better than anything on the TdF, and like no ride ever before in the history of man; even Eddie Merckx would approve. Yes, it’s unbelievable. And, that’s not fake news, really. Perspective is in the eye of the beholder. We believe then we see.

Here’s the tentative plan for Saturday: (subject to rider consensus)

Meet at Stinsons on White Lake Rd for 7:30 am 7:30 am start and ride to Almonte for coffee via W-L Rd, Conc 10, Waba, Blakeney Rd, Hwy 29, Clayton Rd, Tatlock to Galbraith (Km 47); return the same way to Conc 8 to Wolf Grove to Equator Coffee (Km 67); home via Martin St to Kinburn Sd Rd to Dwyer Hill, etc for a total distance of 105 kms; 435 Metres.

This route is mostly flat with the exception of the rollers on Clayton Sd Rd. When the alarm rings in the morning, you’ll be asking yourself, “Where else would I rather be?” than on my bike.

Our training goal is to gain power and strength and to build upon our existing endurance base.

As usual, it’s steady as she goes, with minimal delays on the road.

Weather: 17 – 28 C, full cloud; POP 60%; winds S & SE 20.

Caveat: All this subject to change based upon the turnout and the weather and rider consensus.
