Hello. How are you this late Friday afternoon?

Just think about it: you’re alive as you read this – a breath in, a breath out. A miracle.

The autonomic system at play – rhythmic, metronomic, controlled. So easy, you don’t even think about it. But tomorrow, you’ll be fighting  for breath on the climbs into White Lake and on Pucker and on Pinnacle, when red-lining becomes a reality. Got your attention yet? The bad news is we’re cycling Pucker St. The good news it’s in one direction.

So, this is our last hard training before the RLCT. Don’t miss it. Ask yourself, “really, where else would you rather be”? How many times have you said to yourself, “I wish I had trained less.”? Besides, Sunday, looks as if it might be a wash-out? But, Saturday, we ride rain or shine.

Here’s the tentative plan for Saturday:

Meet at Stinsons on White Lake Rd for 7:30 am 7:30 am start and ride to Renfrew via White Lake Rd, Burnstown Rd, Pucker St (Km 30), Norton, Whalen, Hwy 132, S McNaughton, Butler, Hwy 60 (Km 70), Pinnacle, Garden of Eden, Bruce St, Raglan, Burnstown to Neat Cafe for coffee after 101 kms; then, home via #508 or White Lake for a total distance of 122 kms+/-.

Democracy at work!

  • Or, Option 2) Coffee at the Bonnechere Cafe after 88 kms; then, home via Gilan and Lockwinnow
  • Or, Option 3) Coffee at Tim’s on O’Brien after 90 kms; then, home via Whitton and Lochwinnow.

Okay, if you like undulation and curves (and who doesn’t) this route has it in abundance. In fact, if the undulations and curves were x-mas presents, you’d be like a wide-eyed child opening them all day. Now, that would make you happy.

As usual, it’s steady as she goes, with minimal delays on the road.

Weather: 07 – 14 C , clouds and sun, winds north-west 20 with gusts to 30. POP 30%.

Caveat: All this subject to change based upon the turnout and the weather and rider consensus.
