May 21/17: 94 Kms; 3 Hrs 15; 599 Metres; Nine Riders.

You gotta agree that this cycling is just too much fun; well, mostly.

Riding on Panmure road not so much, what with potholes and patches too many to count; and, an east wind blowing in gale-like fashion. Still, the homeward fifty kilometres was a delight. There was a chorus of, “Where else would you rather be?” heard on Stonecrest and then again spontaneously on County Road 5. If you missed it, you just should have been there.

Here’s the tentative plan for Monday:

Meet at Stinsons on White Lake Rd for 7:30 7:30 am start and ride to Burnstown via White Lake Rd to Meyer Rd, Conc 9, Waba Rd, Kippen, Creekside, McLaughlin, Burnstown Rd to Neat Cafe (Mi porta il menù?) for coffee after 33 Kms; home via #508, Russett Dr, etc for a total distance of 54 kilometres.

This route will provide lots of undulation like the furrows and ridges of corrugated tin. We’ll be riding up and then down but at a pace that places no stress on the heart, lungs, or legs. Ya, you got that right. Unfortunately, the wind direction will present its own challenge on the homeward trip. Can’t be helped.

As usual, it’s steady as she goes, with minimal delays on the road. “A group ride is not a race. If there’s no number on your back, it’s not a race.”

Weather: 12 – 16 C , winds south-east at 15. There is a low chance of showers.

Caveat: All this subject to change based upon the turnout and the weather and rider consensus.

Ask yourself, where else would you rather be?

New cyclists welcome.
