October 05/16: 104 Kms; 3 Hrs 20; 626 Metres; Eight Riders.

Okay, that was a great effort and a super ride, even though we had to fight the east wind on the way to Kanata. This was most notable on the Sixth Line but Keith made the forward progress dead-easy for us by pulling for several kilometres into a heavy breeze. As usual, Joe was the rabbit, frequently assuming the time-trial position, and taking off at speed for the future. The return journey from Starbucks was sweet, with a strong following wind that aided our progress considerably. Why, Keith even got to chase down a giant tractor on Dwyer Hill Road. It was all magical and special in the way that these things can be. You really just should have been there.

Okay, to-day was portrait day. Many of the lads had their own special end of season photograph.  As your principal used to say about the annual high school year book, you may not want it now but you’ll look back on this with fondness and curiosity years from now. You just should have been there!

Did I really say that twice? Well, it was great. Always look forward to these rides and the times we have together. Look at to-day’s photo, these guys are having so much fun. Gotta love it.

Here’s the tentative plan for Sunday: No Group Ride
