Hello and welcome. What were your thoughts this time last week with the RLCT staring you in the face. Now, it’s history. What about MG’s whose stiffness and soreness are daily reminders of last weekend. I’m happy to report he is on the mend but won’t likely ride for a few weeks yet. As for myself, I did nothing this week to increase my fitness. Was it the rain, do you think?

What about the rest of you? Will I be left alone singing that old refrain. “Where have all the flowers/cyclists gone” as I wait ever hopeful at Stinsons. With any luck, someone will turn up to ride – rides that I expect will be dialed back: shorter in distance and at an easier pace. If this helps get you out, then, let’s do it. After all, there are no big rides planned until the Tour of the Bonnechere in August: http://tourdebonnechere.blogspot.ca/.

There is a 100 Km ride next Saturday, June 20, in Almonte.

And, there is the http://www.dotheride.ca/ in September (awaiting info from JA).

So, with nothing too difficult to train for on the horizon, let’s take a break. We’ll kick back a bit before we ramp up the training schedule in July.

Okay, what the tentative plan:

Meet at Stinsons at 8 am 8 am and ride to Renfrew via Campbell Drive, Stevenson, River Road, Castleford to Bruce St to the Bonnechere Cafe for coffee(?); home via Burnstown and White Lake to Stinsons for a total distance of approx 80 Kms. Pace steady, no pressure on the pedals. Enough hills to keep us honest. Weather sunny with NW winds. We can decide to stop at the Bonnechere or carry on to the Neat Cafe.

Bye bye, ac. Comments always welcome at arnpriorcycling@bell.net; http://www.twitter.com/ArnpriorCycling
