Hello and welcome.

Summer has run out of room on the calendar or to borrow a phrase from rock and roll — summer has left the building. But, hey, you wouldn’t know it these past few days. I guess, we forgot about the encore performance. Don’t stop clapping. Let’s keep this gig going. It’s going to be a great weekend, don’t you know. Let’s enjoy it to the fullest.

Ride your bicycle.

Still, I’m not sure of the interest these days. Attendance has been slim of late. And, the season is winding down. Many of the lads are cycled-out. And, there are competing local events. Raymond and Scott will be in the Neat 25 Km run. Perry and Kevin(?) will be in the Perth 175 Km cycle. Others?? Who knows?

If you would like a memorable cycle on a super route with some keen cyclists, why not join us. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Here’s the tentative plan:

Meet at Stinsons (I’ll be at the Cafe) on White Lake Rd at 8am 8am and ride to Pucker St via White Lake, Burnstown, Calabogie, Norton Rd; Home via Burnstown, etc. for a total distance of approx 100 Kms, with lots of hills in preparation for the TDPs next Saturday. Effort moderate. Weather forecast very good. It’s just ideal. Don’t miss out; punch your ticket!

Okay, enough. Here is something to think about. Bob Hicks (who is the main OBC group leader) has offered to conduct a riding clinic for us. I don’t have all the details. Just wanting to throw it our there to gauge the interest. We can chat on the ride and via email later. Meantime, give it some thought. FYI, I met Bob on a Canbicuba tour a couple of years ago. Perry knows him, too. Bob is a former racer and an expert in proper technique and group riding safety.
