”Roses are planted where thorns grow./And on the barren heath/Sing the honey bees.” WB

Riding a bicycle is not everything but it is much. And, to-day was an aria sung in high c’s, with delight as the chorus and joy the conductor. Exuberance is the threshold through which we enter wonder to step timeless into being. Now, that’s new age.

Yes, it was lyrical. Well, I don’t know how else to capture the day. What would you say? We had near perfect conditions for a perfect ride – just the right distance, just the right pace, just the right coffee stop, good company, lots of chatter, good fun, favourable winds and warm sun. I could go on but you get the point. You just should have been there. And, you can on Sunday. Here is the tentative plan:

There is only one scheduled ride for Sunday at 8 am. For those who missed Gregg’s ride this morning by all accounts it was a big success. Don’t miss it next weekend, especially if you are getting started or getting back into cycling. You won’t regret it.

Venue: Stinsons on White Lake Road at 8 am 8 am

Route: Carleton Place via Waba Rd to Pakenham, 29 to Blakeney to Almonte, etc; home via Conc 8

Distance: 100 Kms approx, with some climbing but not much; Pace: Steady enough to be fun.

Weather: 15-22C, with light winds from the south (fingers crossed)

If you haven’t been out this is another classic ride on good roads. You’ll like it!

Bye bye, ac. Comments always welcome at;
