April 26: four riders; 80 kms; 2:hrs 50; 172 metres.

Howdy. Well that was not what you would call a beauty. It was an ugly, cold water monster that (to mix metaphors) hounded us for the duration of the ride. It was one to harden the mind, if not the heart but, hey, when you are wet you are wet. So what is to be done other than ride on with mercurial hope in one’s jersey pocket. With no luck and hopeless, we aborted the original plan, once we had checked out Logger’s Way and Fitzroy for Jeff and Rob. Misery loves company but there was none to be found — misery enough, I guess.

So, we turned at the Kinburn Side Rd for Pakenham and White Lake, giving us, at least,  some comfort knowing we could bolt for home, if conditions worsened. You are probably glad you missed this one. But, what about Sunday’ ride? Are you up for it?

Here is the tentative plan:

Venue: Stinsons (White Lake Rd) at 10 am

Route: To Renfrew via Campbell Dr, Stephenson, Lochwinnow, etc; Home via Bruce St.

Distance: 60-70 Kms max

Pace: Conversational. This is a recovery ride.
